Our story

We are a specialist consultancy group with a vision to provide strategic business solutions for sporting
organisations across Australia.

After many years working in the sports sector, it became apparent that several parallels could be drawn between the sporting and corporate arenas. With a keen understanding of both sectors, the vision was born to assist sporting organisations with the strategic, structural and people challenges faced by their leaders
and their management boards.

Sporting organisations are traditionally structured on the foundations of community passion and involvement. Paul recognised the need to bring corporate business capability to the sporting world so it could secure a stronger, more profitable future.

As a highly experienced consultant to the sporting industry, Paul is frequently sought after for his commercial acumen and proven ability to shape high performing teams.

Always a results-driven professional, he combines strategic leadership with organisational restructure to achieve risk managed outcomes. With more than two decades of experience, Paul has worked with a variety of community and member based organisations and understands the necessities of volunteer management.

Paul is not afraid to challenge the status quo. He offers insights and advice to help organisations meet the strategic, operational and financial goals necessary to drive performance. He is an effective change leader, conversant in stakeholder management, cultural transformation and talent acquisition.

A former CEO of Hockey NSW, Paul has first-hand experience of sporting board governance. This, combined with his extensive corporate expertise has led to strategic board review engagements with some of Australia’s leading sporting organisations.

Paul is highly skilled in advocacy and lobbying across a variety of stakeholder groups, including State, Federal government, government agencies and corporates.

His aptitude for business transformation will be evident as he sets your organisation on the road to change with hands-on guidance and expertise.

People and culture is all about big picture people management.  It’s aimed at keeping the way your employees work and feel about their jobs aligned with your business goals and strategy.

Sue is our highly respected people and culture management consultant. She is all action and brimming with knowledge gained from 30 years’ experience working in the corporate sector. Her breadth of experience is perfect as it gives her the agility, and ability, to respond to the unique environment that sporting organisations work within.

Always the one to roll her sleeves up, Sue has taken the lead on various large-scale change projects. She managed the people strategy for a major division of one of Australia’s largest media companies – while it transformed from a print to an online business. And, she assisted a newly ASX-listed technology company to manage the people challenges associated with its transition from a start-up business to a long-term operational entity.

Sue knows the ins and outs of the many people and culture challenges faced by organisations, including strategy, structure, growth planning, and change management. She has managed teams of all sizes and has consulted for many of Australia’s leading media, technology and online companies, as well as a number of fast growing start-up businesses.

As part of our people and culture team, Sue helps senior leaders assure profitable outcomes for their organisations. A bonus feather in her cap is that she is also a qualified trainer. She professionally mentors many senior executives in the building, banking, media, philanthropic, technology and government sectors. She also works with a number of not for profit organisations and social enterprises on a pro-bono basis.

As our skilled human resource specialist, Kylie offers our clients more than a decade of experience in human resource management. Her expertise lies in the media industry as her career roles have spanned publishing, television and events. She most recently led the human resource function for the Channel Nine Network.

Working in media has seen Kylie manage many change implementation projects. These have included some of the largest acquisitions and relocations in the television industry. She is adept in the smooth transition of policies, systems, people and managers during challenging periods of change.

These talents are invaluable to our sporting organisation clients as she makes easy work of the human resources needs specific to this niche industry. She has a knack of taking a big picture view, whilst skilfully balancing it with the more functional, yet essential human resources needs.

Kylie is equally at home interpreting current legislation, modern awards and employment conditions, as she is coaching executives and managers on recruitment, performance management, grievances, terminations and restructures. It is her knowledge and versatility that make her indispensable contributor to the unique suite of human resources services we offer this industry.

With specialist skills in leadership and management coaching, organisational change and risk management, Kylie will be actively involved in the talent acquisition needs of your business. She builds relationships at every level of an organisation and will work keenly with your senior executives and managers on all of your people related matters.
